Agnes Gatarayiha has over 15 years of academic experience at the University of Rwanda,
significantly contributing to dental public health. Known for her exceptional leadership and
ethics expertise, she serves on various boards, including as the Country Representative
for the African Bioethics Network (ABN).

Agnes actively participates in multiple committees, such as the grading technical
committee at the Rwanda Allied Health Professional Council and member of Dental
Health without Borders in Denmark (TUG/SoS Rwanda) and Miracles Corners Rwanda.
She plays a crucial role in policy development and is dedicated to ethical research. Her
research advances dental public health, securing project funding for initiating like the
National Oral Health Survey in Rwanda, funded by the Cummings Foundation, and
multidisciplinary capacity-building research projects funded by SIDA. Agnes has
numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and serves as a reviewer for various
research grants and journals.

She holds a Master's in International Health and is currently pursuing a PhD in Public
Health. Agnes has received a PhD fellowship from the CaFe-SEA project consortium
funded by UKAID. Her mentorship and collaborative spirit continue to inspire colleagues
and students alike.
