Fundamental Research Ethics Training

From June 27 to July 1, 2022, the Africa Bioethics Network hosted a virtual Fundamental Research Ethics Training, gathering participants across Africa to deepen their understanding of ethical research practices. The program covered essential topics, including core research ethics principles, the roles and responsibilities of ethics committees, ethical research design, and the importance of informed consent, particularly when working with vulnerable populations. Participants also explored research integrity and community engagement, emphasizing the ethical responsibilities researchers bear toward local communities. This training reinforced ethical standards, equipping participants with the knowledge to conduct responsible and respectful research across diverse African contexts.
